Common Concerns
I don't think I can afford it.
You're in luck! Because you've found this page in the early stages of the program, you'll get a Founding Members Discount for half off any membership. If you sign up now, you'll get to keep the discount as long as you stay a member!
Do you accept my preferred way to pay?
Accepted forms of payment include all major credit cards, PayPal, and Google Pay.
Credit is too complicated for me.
The mission of this site is to break the credit system down into simple concepts, including a dictionary of terms to make credit language accessible to everyone.
Credit feels irrelevant and unimportant to me.
I felt the exact same way, up until the moment I failed an important credit check. If you don't get ahead of it, your low score will get ahead of you and will be waiting for you by the time you get to those important life moments.
I don't have the time it takes to increase my credit score.
After I took the first step of this program, my score shot up by over 140 points overnight! If you have little credit history like I did, opening your first credit account using my methods has a chance to give you similar results.
I don't think I'll ever need good credit.
Do you need housing? You may not care about your credit score, but lots of landlords do, and they won't hesitate to deny your rental application if your score's too low. If you need a mortgage, the banks that choose whether to grant them and how much interest to charge also use credit scores to make their decisions. Your credit score is also used by many utility companies, the finance professionals in charge of auto loans, and many insurance companies (including places selling the auto insurance you're required by law to have).
What if I'm already past the first step and have decent credit?
Even if you're not a beginner, your benefits continue to grow as long as your credit score does! Plus, you can use this membership to keep up with new credit cards when they're released, which helps you get cards with great rewards (which means more money for you). This community can also provide support and accountability on your journey, keeping you intentional about your finances and your future!
What if I make plenty of money?
Money can't directly buy you a high credit score or get you out of needing one. You can't buy a house without credit because sellers almost never accept payments without a loan agreement in place, which requires a credit score (and requires a good credit score if you want favorable terms). Many renters also require credit as proof that you can make payments over long time periods and won't rent to you at all without it.
Success Story
I didn't know anything about credit or why it would be important to have a good score. Then when my credit got denied for renting an apartment, it was obvious that something had to change. After I learned the lessons in this course and started following the steps, my score shot up! It increased by over 140 points by the end of the first month! After that, I stopped having to pay deposits on utilities and started getting offers for credit cards with much better cash back rewards. I haven't been denied anything that requires a credit check since then!
